Betting on Myself: A Journey with a Twist

Hello, I'm Radovan, and my poker journey began much earlier than one might imagine. Anything but ordinary, I must say.

My first game of five-card poker was with my cousin. I must have been about 12 years old at the time. He was six years older, but it didn't take me very long to learn the game, and I did start beating him. That early success planted the seed of what was going to be a lifelong passion.

Overcoming Temptation

This was further exacerbated during high school by playing slot machines, which had more downsides than I had previously thought.

I kinda wish that I had never discovered gambling, as it drained potential away from me. Anytime I would win money playing poker, I would then lose it to slot machines or roulette. Those moments just took away what could have been a more focused and successful journey in poker.

But it wasn't until university, where I again picked up poker, that I became well and truly hooked—but still not entirely away from machines.

Late-night tournaments with friends where I could outthink my opponents and make a bit of easy money were exhilarating. The moment that really sealed the deal came when, skipping a university party to jump into a $4.40 tournament on PokerStars, I walked away with around $220.

That win felt better than any party could have been, and I knew poker was something I wanted to do seriously.

Over the last few years, I have taken complete responsibility for my gambling habits. I have stayed away from slot machines and casinos altogether. I still miss playing live poker in that setting, but for now, it is about control—and that's what's best for my growth.

The Crypto Advantage:

Reinventing My Poker Game

Over the years, I have explored some of the poker variants—be it razz or omaha—in search of challenges. Later, a whole new world in my journey was encountered, one of cryptocurrencies, when a coach introduced a private poker club, depositing being the only option through crypto.

That was my first true experience with cryptocurrencies, and it opened up a whole new world for me. I soon understood how crypto worked and knew it had the potential to be the money of the future, at least now when all the other currencies are losing their value.

I understand fully that many will be wary to trust something they can't hold in their hands, but to be honest, that is an appeal to me. The idea of aligning my love for poker with the crypto space—that is changing and growing at an incredibly rapid pace—fits like a glove.

The competition in these crypto-friendly clubs was noticeably softer compared to major platforms like PokerStars and GGPoker, where the action is hot and the rake can be savage.

Crypto gave me an edge and a boost in confidence, and I could finally see just how it would complement my poker strategy. Faster transactions, greater anonymity, the possibility of bankroll growth through crypto investments—it all just clicked.

Challenges Along the Way

Not to sugarcoat anything, my poker journey has definitely been full of struggles. Bankroll management has always been a problematic part for me. In the beginning of my poker career, I'd play higher stakes when I didn't have proper bankroll, so this one I learned through some harsh experiences.

But with poker, just like fishing, it takes patience and the right equipment to catch a big one. Whether I am waiting on the lake for a bite or waiting at the poker table for that perfect hand, it's all just about the same: timing, patience, knowing when to reel them in.

I sit at the poker table and feel that I am fishing for weaker players in search of any opportunity to reel in that big pot. When I'm on the water, it's the same feeling of excitement and anticipation; only this time, I'm waiting for the fish to take the bait.

Oh, didn't I tell you that I am an avid fisherman? Well, now you know! Yeah, that is me on the picture above.

Be it a big catch on the lake or at the poker table, the kick is just satisfying.

Join the Journey: Lessons from the Table and Beyond

The blog is basically a way to merge my passion for poker with the exciting, new potential of cryptocurrencies. It is about sharing my thought-world and building discipline to act on it in life.

Whether one is an amateur or serious poker aspirant, I've got your back. I'll be trying out different poker platforms for you, especially those that take on cryptocurrencies, and letting you know exactly how it goes—honestly.

I hope that with the victories, the losses, and everything in between that I share, I can inspire people to keep on keeping on with their own poker journey.

Finding a BUDDY: Your Journey Starts Here

Frankly, there's nothing like chit-chatting about hands with a buddy. It's made all the difference for me, and it might just make a difference for you, too.

Whether for the two-way talk two players share about hands or the support group of poker players, it's an invaluable source. Much less learned on coaches—paid, even—which saved countless hours on time and money in trial and error. That's why I always suggest finding a community or a partner with whom you can share your poker journey.

I'll be giving useful information to the players who are fresh and beginners with the concept of cryptocurrencies, starting with poker and finding the right cryptocurrency sites. I will also cover the mistakes I have made, which I believe decelerated my path to success.

For those with a little more experience with poker, or if you're new to crypto, I will be doing reviews on the sites offering crypto poker. I compare whether the games are softer than traditional sites, sharing my experiences and results, whether I win or lose; I am fully dedicated to playing poker on crypto poker sites.

When I’m not at the poker table or exploring the world of cryptocurrencies, you’ll often find me by the lake, fishing rod in hand.

Just like poker, fishing requires patience, strategy, and a bit of luck. And honestly, there’s nothing quite like the thrill of a big catch—whether it’s a fish or a winning hand!

I’d love to hear your stories too—whether it’s your first big win or a tough lesson you’ve learned.

Write me an email, and I’ll personally read and reply! In the subject line, please write "My Poker Story" so I know it’s about your journey. I’m excited to hear from you!

My goal is for this blog to be a place where you can find answers, support, and maybe even learn a few new strategies. So, feel free to reach out with your questions, share your experiences, and let’s grow together.
